Several Shoestring-hosted web sites were unavailable for approximately four hours beginning at 8 pm ET on 4/8/08. The outage affected only PHP-based sites including blogs, discussion forums and content management systems. Other services (email) and non-PHP sites were not affected except during server restarts, which generally last just a couple of minutes. A minor server software upgrade failed to complete successfully, causing the partial outage.
On 4/9/08 PM and early on 4/10/08 during additional updates, several warning messages were generated regarding bandwidth and disk space limits. Those warnings were generated in error and should be ignored.
